This may sound strange, but I actually enjoy the six-hour plane ride from L.A. to N.Y.C. I see those hours as the perfect time to catch up on reading, maybe watch a movie I’ve been wanting to order on demand for months. Who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky and catch a Downtown Abbey marathon. So, for the next five days I’ll be enjoying some time with my friends and family in NYC. But don’t fret dear reader, I’ll still be posting here daily – in between cab rides, dodging rats the size of small children, and walking down the street wondering…what is that smell?! Below are my travel essentials that not only make air travel bearable but downright enjoyable.
1. Isabel Marant knit scarf – I like to use an oversized scarf as a travel blanket to save valuable carry on space.
2. SUPER coconut oil lip balm – I have jars of this delicious smelling balm in every purse, in my car and on my bedside table.
3. Keels Simple Diary - I am incapable of keeping a daily journal, the simple diary is a great alternative.
4. Lunch in Paris – I purchased this book weeks ago and will finally get some time to start it. It’s a love story sprinkled with recipes, perfect light read for a plane ride.
5. Marc by Marc Jacobs earbuds – these are too cute, perfect for enjoying some in flight entertainment.
6. Bertie’s Closet elephant march print lap top case – another great Etsy find, comes in lots of great prints.
7. Swiss Just anti-stress oil – This is honestly the best product I have ever used. With all the stresses of every day life – I sometimes have a hard time unwinding. Just a few dabs of this potion helps me relax, so I take it with me wherever I go.
8. Jurlique Rosewater balancing mist – Circulated air is not very nice to our skin and this mist is great for a pick-me-up.
9. L’Occitane lavender hand purifying gel – Air planes are notoriously germ infested, so I slather this gel on every hour on the hour.
10. Paul Smith socks – Whenever I travel without the hubs, I like to take a pair of his socks to wear on the plane.
11. Longchamp by Mary Katrantzou carry on bag – The perfect carry on bag.

I am the same way! I secretly don’t mind long flights if I have a new book to read and a stack of magazines. It’s such a good way to unplug. Have a great trip!
I am exactly the same way. I live for long flights. Downton Abbey and/or Revenge marathons, time to catch up on my reading… it’s blissful, really! Enjoy your trip. I just read The Paris Wife, and loved it!!
I have the same laptop case from Bertie’s Closet (except the background fabric on mine is yellow) and I LOVE it. Usually I just toss my laptop in my purse (oops) but this has motivated me to take better care of my new little Macbook Air.
Have fun in the city!
