Inspiration: Summer fruit

The weather here in Los Angeles has been kind of spastic lately. Although, the last few days have been blissfully summer like. When I think summer, I picture farmers markets, fruit festivals (this website lists all fairs and festivals in California, but I’m sure every state has a website like this one) picnics and seasonal fruit pie. The change in season always makes me want to update things around the house, especially my closet. I have been feeling very inspired by fruit themed prints, accessories and decor. Fruit prints were huge a few season’s ago in part thanks to  Stella McCartney’s Spring 2011 collection. For me the fruit fixation never really went away – one of my dogs’ names is Clementine for Pete’s sake! The other one is named Noodle, maybe it’s not so much a fruit fixation but an all food obsession? Here are a few of my fruit inspired favorites:

Fruit inspired clothing, accessories and decor

1. J.Crew pleated Jardin skirt in delicious apple print – I would be a total cheese ball and wear   this to a fruit festival or apple picking!
2. Topshop fruit stack rings –  a playful take on classic stacking rings.
3. A gorgeous floral arrangements with fresh figs from this stunning wedding.
4. Adorable Summer Fruit Print by Claire Nereim available at her lovely Etsy shop
5. I freaked when I saw these MIU MIU glitter cherry sandals, they are the epitome of festive summer footwear.
6. I love how these graphic prints by Enzo Mari add a shot of color to the space, image from a home tour of a beautiful Brooklyn Brownstone .
7. I did not expect to find a pineapple shaped, tufted headboard, but here it is! It belongs to this NYC home. I wonder where I could find one of these?
8. This Mulberry bikini is just perfect, I love the stripes and the little strawberry decal.
