Inspiration: Marbling

A little business before we get to the pretty stuff:

Have you guys heard of Alt Channel? I’m sure that those of you in the blogging community are probably well aware of Alt Design Summit- which I’m hoping to attend next year for the first time. Alt Channel offers on-line classes on various blogging/social media related topics. I highly recommend anyone who has their own blog or business explore the classes available, I have no doubt that everyone can benefit from learning a few tips and tricks. In the last few weeks I took a Turn your blog in to a brand (and then in to a business) class, taught by the lovely Erin of Apartment 34, a Twitter 101 class on how to effectively utilize twitter, taught my the hilarious Jamie Derringer (the brains behind the Milk sites and Lost Crates) and Pinterest 101. I’ve been told by several people that Pinterest is a major source of traffic to their sites, but until I took the class I had NO IDEA just how much I was doing wrong. Immediately after class I went on a revamping/reorganizing rampage and now I invite all of you to check out my new and improved Pinterest account - I am very proud of how far it’s gone.

Now, a little design inspiration:

My interest in all things marbled was recently piqued while flipping through this month’s issue of ELLE DECOR when a marbled waste basket caught my eye. The very next day a post on DIY marble paper popped up on one of my favorite blogs, House of Earnest. I figured it’s best to listen to the universe and put together a little marbled wish list. I love that each design is unique with its own pattern and color combination. I am tempted to try marbling myself but previous DIY attempts have taught me that it’s much better if I just purchase one of these ready-made items.

I love all of the marbling!

I’m also so interested to hear your recommendations about the alt classes – I hadn’t heard of this before and could definitely use something like that! That’s really great.

I can’t say enough about these classes! It’s just really solid, useful info from people who know what they are talking about.

I love the Alt Classes. I think in April I took three classes! One of classes was Erin’s Social Media 101 and I learned so much. Erin knows her stuff and teaches it in a very clear, understandable way. I was just looking at the course calendar today and thinking of signing up for a few more. Hm, might have to take that Pinterest one. Thanks for the rec. ;)
PS~Geez, got so excited about Alt that I forgot to mention how nice your marble layout came out. Woot!
