Having a moment: the Chuck Taylor

chuck taylor street styleSo I know Chuck Taylors never went out of style – in fact they have been the ultimate “cool kid” shoe since their introduction to the world in 1917 as a basketball shoe. Yet I’ve noticed they seem to be making an appearance on the feet of aforementioned cool kids more and more as of late. Maybe it’s because street photogs are feeling sentimental and snapping them more, or maybe it’s because they’re just straight-up awesome and now come in every color and design imaginable (seems like every artist, designer and athlete has collaborated with Converse on a shoe) . I like to wear mine with just about anything, which is the beauty of a Chuck Taylor. They can be worn with a favorite pair of jeans and an old t-shirt or with a pretty, floral dress and still work. Lately I’ve been wearing my low-tops with knee length skirts and dresses, which adds a certain elegance to a fun, street shoe.

J.Crew “Keeper” chambray shirt - my absolute favorite fit shirt, looks great layered over a fun tank 3. j.crew sequin top - nothing wrong with adding a little sequin action to a day look 4. cc sky bracelet  & gorjana wrap bracelet - both on my lust list. 5. Tibi skirt 6. Mint converse low tops, a true classic in the trendiest color of the season. 7. Theysken’s Theory Anen bag.

I’ve had my favorite pair of Chuck Taylors for years (because everyone knows the more holes your Chucks have, the better) until someone made me get rid of them, claiming I was too old to be wearing beat up shoes for sentimental value’s sake. Since then I’ve acquired quite a collection of fresh Converse sneakers. My favorite being the Converse x Missoni pair I scored before they sold out at my favorite L.A. shop, Canvas, which specializes in highly sought after, limited edition footwear and apparel. Do you guys own any sentimental items of clothing or shoes you’re holding onto, even though they have holes in them?

Love it! I’m a big fan of chuck taylor’s as well. I wear my classic off white pair to death! Also, I’m totally intrigued about trying to make a gif file. I attempted to use cinema gram but haven’t had enough time to figure it out.

  2. I LOVE my chuck taylors I wear them all the time! But I haven’t paired them with long skirts. This is one look I will have to try!!

I’ve definitely jumped on board the Chuck bandwagon. I will especially dependent on them during my Euro trip this summer for all that sightseeing!
