Baked eggs and Sam

Sam is my husband, and I’m allowed to be cheesy on the account of yesterday being Valentine’s day so bear with me. Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day so I usually try to create some sort of themed breakfast for holidays and special occasions. This breakfast is a combination of a baked egg recipe I found on Verses From My Kitchen and my own festive touch of the heart-shaped french toast. The baked eggs are surprisingly flavorful thanks to the rosemary, nutmeg and shaved parmesan cheese. The recipe also calls for pancetta which I substituted for mushrooms.  You can find the full recipe for the baked eggs here and a great french toast recipe here.

baked eggs with parmesan cheeseI used walnut raisin bread for the french toast and the slices were not big enough for the heart-shaped cookie cutter so I made heart halves instead which actually turned out cute.
